2 FEB 1647 Damien Bérubé was born in Rocquefort, France to Robert & Catherine Ferrecoq. He left Rocuefort for Québec in June of 1671 to work as a Stone Mason for Jean-Baptiste-François de Boishébert future Lord of Rivière-Ouelle.
Three years later (1674) Damien received a grant of land in the Seigniory of "la Bouteillerie." The lot was located south west of the Rivière-Ouelle on the river and extending inland. It was 12 acres by 42 acres long. Many of the since subdivided lots in the region today are still owned by Bérubés.
On 22 AUG 1679 Damien married Jeanne Savonnet, a 33 year old widow, from Paris. She already had had 4 children by Jean Soucy and she bore Damien 7 more: Jeanne-Marguerite, Pierre, Ignace, Marie, Marie-Josephte, Thérèse and Mathurin.
On 7 MAR 1688 Damien and two of his daughters died in the same unkown circumstances. A monument has been erected to Damien at his resting place in the Rivière-Ouelle cemetary. I am of the 11th generation of Bérubé's from Damien in the New World. My Bérubé lineage follows thus:

I am currently researching my Chlainn Domhnaill (Clan Donald) connection, which is my mothers side, but I do have my MacDonald lineage back to the mid Eighteenth c. It is thus:
